Just want to say happy birthday to cousin Alex. I can't believe you are already 9. It seems like just yesterday you were one and showing Hayden how to walk. We sure miss you. Hope you have a FABULOUS day. Hope that you think of us every time you wear your birthday present.

Flashback Friday 11.28.08

WOW, I almost missed Flashback Friday. Today we are going to 2005. Gavin was one. Yesterday was Gavin's BIRTHDAY. He was FOUR. Yep, Thanksgiving and a birthday, we had a VERY busy day. I can hardly believe my baby boy is a big boy four. Though if you are a regular to my blog you know that this little boy thinks his is big an wise beyond his years. I remember looking at Gavin in the hospital and telling Owen that this baby has an old soul. He has proved me right time and time again. He seems to think he is an old man trapped in a now 4 year old body. Let me tell you he keeps me on my toes. And I love him very much.

A day at the lake

We had planned on taking the kids up the the Kennecott Copper Mine. Who knew that they shut down the visitor center for the winter season. So on the fly, looking for something to do, we took the kids out to see the Great Salt Lake. It was REALLY fun. They thought Salt Air was a funny looking old building (we will go back in the summer when you can walk around). Hayden thought that the LAKE stunk, which I had to agree, but you get use to it pretty quick. It was fun to walk around and see the different types of sand and gunk that was at the shore. Even though it was a little chilly there were still boats going out of the marina and the kids thought that was cool too.

It was a fun just about free day and something that we want to share with family when the come in town and it isn't cold and snowy.

I know that we are well into football season. Hubby's team is not playing up to their potential. So I thought I would remind him it isn't always about the game but about the fans. Don't they look like a tough bunch???

The above picture is brought to you by... GAVIN. Yup, Gavin. I think he is a pretty good artist. So good that I thought that Hayden drew it. But then I asked him to draw me another picture and he drew one that was very similar but different. (I am saving it for another day so you have to wait.) My favorite part is the ears.

A moment in ...

Sabrina's day. I know that I share lots of photos of Sabrina but it is very different to watch her just being her. This was the other day when it was just the two of us. All of the other kids were off at school and she wasn't ready for her nap yet. I just love listening to her babble and grumble.

Candid Family Photo

I think this may be the first family photo we have with ALL of us. As you can see it is from us celebrating my birthday. Not a bad looking family if I do say so myself.

Flashback Friday 11.14.08

This is another photo from Fall of 2005. I love everything about this picture. I love that Rachel captured the color of Jared's eyes and his big boy smile. I also love Gavin looking up at his big brother, can't you just see the adoration. Even back then you can tell that the are two peas from the same pod.

Now for the shameless begging, Rachel please bring your good camera. As you can see your photos of the family are some of my very favorites and I would like you take some while you are here.

Now for the apology I am very sorry there has been a lack of blogging this week BUT it is all Owen's fault. He stole my camera and didn't tell me. I will try to do some catching up this weekend.

Flashback Friday 11.07.08

Thanks for coming by for my Flashback Friday this week we are going to 2005. Auntie Rachel was here in November and she is a great photographer who is also really nice. She agreed to take some family photos. This one is of Jared and is FAVORITE cousin, who at the time was living near us. The boys were lucky enough to even get to go to the same school. They were, and are,best buds. You can just see how much they like each other in this photo.

The second photo is Cameron now. Today is Cameron's THIRTEENTH birthday. Cameron is the oldest of all the kids is our BIG family. It is hard for me to think that any of our kids is a teenager. Cameron is very special to me, you see, he was born on MY birthday. I want him to know how much I love him. I know that he is struggling in school and having some trying times but if he ever needs anything or just wants someone to listen I hope that he knows I am always here and it will stay just between us.

Hello Fall???

This is what we woke up to this morning. As I am typing the lake affect in kicking in and it is dumping and blowing more snow. The kids were thrilled and dressed and playing in it before I could mange to function.

The only thing that really stinks is I haven't finished getting the kids warm jackets and of course the child that is ALWAYS cold is the ONE that doesn't have a jacket that fits. Well a shopping I will go.

How I do laundry

Yup, this is the only way that I can get both the clean laundry and the baby upstairs. It is a good thing Sabrina isn't any heavier. Thought she is getting really good at doing the stairs by herself and she follows me sort of like a puppy. But if I go to fast she cries, so for now this way works. Besides, she will only be little for a short time so I better enjoy it while it lasts.

Halloween Night

Just thought I would share a few photos from trick or treating. Photo #1 waiting for Dad to say it was okay to go. Jared isn't in the picture because he got to go out with a few friends around the neighborhood.

Photo #2 I had to take a shot of what Owen looks like when he take the kids out. He is wearing a coat that Aunt Joyce gave me one year. It must have been 8 years ago because he wears it EVERY year as his costume and I have the video to prove it.

Photo #3 & 4 is the HAUL the kids got this year. Needless to say we won't need any treats in the house for a VERY long time.
